On July 19, 2019, the Decree No. 496 of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine came into force introducing significant increase in the amounts of official fees for IP matters.

 On August 1, 2018, the Patent Office of Ukraine began publishing information on pending trademark applications in its online database as soon as the application filing date has been established.This will allow timely filing of oppositions against any conflicting applications.

On March 13, 2018, the Ukrainian Parliament (Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine) approved in the first reading of the draft laws initiated by the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade in the field of intellectual property rights protection, namely:
On January 25, 2018, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved of two draft laws of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine directed to the improvement of the intellectual property rights protection field in Ukraine. Both documents were developed in accordance with the concept of the Intellectual Property Rights Protection Reform in Ukraine.
On December 8, 2017, the Intellectual Property Department of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine published a draft Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine On Introduction of Amendments to the Resolutions of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of December 27, 2001 #1756 and of December 23, 2004 #1716 On the Order of Payment of Official Fees for Actions Related to Intellectual Property Rights Protection in Ukraine (official fees). 
On December 7-8, 2017, the Managing Partner of Grischenko & Partners IP attended the Pan-European Intellectual Property Summit in Brussels organized by Premier Cercle.

On September 29, 2017, the Intellectual Property High Court was created in accordance with the 2016 Judicial Reform in Ukraine.
