On August 16, 2020, the Law of Ukraine No.3770-XII “On the Protection of Rights to Industrial Designs” was amended.
The main amendments to the Law “On the Protection of Rights to Industrial Designs” are as follows:
- introducing an additional patentability condition – individual character;
- introducing legal protection to unregistered industrial designs;
- increasing the term of validity of intellectual property rights from 15 to 25 years;
- changing of protection document type from Patent to Certificate;
- providing a possibility of pre-trial revocation of the Certificate in the Appeals Chamber.
